World Oceans Day - Live the oceans online!
The World's oceans, 8th June 2011. This year’s theme focuses on “Youth: the Next Wave for Change”. In light of this, Seas At Risk are challenging all comers of all ages to discover the world's oceans online and learn a new language too.
The next generation will be faced by an enormous challenge to help protect and restore the marine environment across the globe. They will also have to work alongside people of all nationalities as many threats to the marine environment are of global proportions.
Fortunately, Seas At Risk has just the tool to help in the form of Learn2sea.org!
Learn2sea.org is an online portal that focuses on marine conservation and related topics in an array of different languages. It brings together teaching resources for schools, computer games, action plans, projects and links to information for both kids, teenagers, university students and adults.
The materials have been created by Seas At Risk member organisations and various other international groups and institutions concerned with the marine environment. You can search for materials by topic, target audience, student age range and language.
